Trichology

Trichology and the Institute of Trichologists

The Institute of Trichologists was founded in 1902 to protect the public from the many unqualified hair and scalp Consultants. Registered Trichologists may be recognised by the initials M.I.T (Member of The Institute of Trichologists) and A.I.T. (Associate Member of The Institute of Trichologists). To obtain these qualifications, the Trichologist must have completed a minimum of three years study, passing all exams under the supervision of qualified medical practitioners and scientists.

There are a growing number of 'hair specialists', so it is important to seek the qualified attention of a registered Trichologist to analyse your hair or scalp problem.
